Filet Mignon with Tenderizer

Filet Mignon that includes a tenderizing marinade:

Filet Mignon

Ingredients:

  • 2 filet mignon steaks
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, black pepper, and salt to create the tenderizing marinade.
  2. Place the filet mignon steaks in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are fully coated. If using a dish, you can also cover the steaks with plastic wrap.
  4. Marinate the filet mignon in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, but preferably overnight. Turning the steaks occasionally will help distribute the marinade.
  5. After marinating, remove the steaks from the marinade and discard the remaining marinade.
  6. Preheat your grill or a skillet over high heat.
  7. If using a grill, lightly oil the grates. If using a skillet, add a small amount of oil to the pan.
  8. Sear the filet mignon steaks on each side for about 2-3 minutes to develop a nice crust.
  9. Reduce the heat to medium and continue cooking the steaks for an additional 4-6 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of about 130-135°F (55-57°C).
  10. Once cooked to your liking, remove the filet mignon steaks from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
  11. Slice and serve the filet mignon with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a side salad.

The tenderizing marinade helps to enhance the tenderness and flavor of the filet mignon. Enjoy your deliciously tender and flavorful filet mignon!
