Filet Mignon that includes a tenderizing marinade:
Filet Mignon
Ingredients:
- 2 filet mignon steaks
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, black pepper, and salt to create the tenderizing marinade.
- Place the filet mignon steaks in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag.
- Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are fully coated. If using a dish, you can also cover the steaks with plastic wrap.
- Marinate the filet mignon in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, but preferably overnight. Turning the steaks occasionally will help distribute the marinade.
- After marinating, remove the steaks from the marinade and discard the remaining marinade.
- Preheat your grill or a skillet over high heat.
- If using a grill, lightly oil the grates. If using a skillet, add a small amount of oil to the pan.
- Sear the filet mignon steaks on each side for about 2-3 minutes to develop a nice crust.
- Reduce the heat to medium and continue cooking the steaks for an additional 4-6 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of about 130-135°F (55-57°C).
- Once cooked to your liking, remove the filet mignon steaks from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Slice and serve the filet mignon with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a side salad.
The tenderizing marinade helps to enhance the tenderness and flavor of the filet mignon. Enjoy your deliciously tender and flavorful filet mignon!
